Did You Know??

Taking dance exams is good for school credits in fine arts!

Depending on the school all a student needs to do is take their exam report and certificate into the office. Just some extra incentive to take exams!

Exams that count:

  • ISTD Modern Intermediate, Advanced 1, Advanced 2
  • RAD Intermediate Foundation, Intermediate, Advanced Foundation, Advanced 1 & 2
  • AID Tap Bronze Lower or Bronze Higher, Silver Lower or Silver Higher, Gold Lower or Gold Higher

Exam entry season is soon upon us! Make sure you are working hard to quickly learn the syllabus in your classes so you can concentrate on technique and performance rather than having to relearn the work each week

It is not only advanced students that take exams. The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance ( ISTD) and Association of International Dance Teachers (AITD) are international dance organizations that examine children from 5 years old onwards.  Little tappers in Tel Aviv, Israel have as much difficulty with that shuffle in their Yellow Star tap class and tiny Mayan girls in Tulum, Mexico love to do petit jetes in their classes as they improve their ballet technique just as we do in Duncan B.C. No matter where in the world a child trains,  the standard is  consistent and when the exam goal is met, self esteem , work ethic, a sense of pride and improved technique are all part of the overall benefit.

Dancers and teachers alike have a goal to work towards and an international standard to attain.
